Lydian Money
A product of over 110+ hours of UX research, UI design and prototyping, Lydian Money aims to explore the problem frame of financial literacy. This project showcases the inception, ideation and craft of Lydian Money, a final year university end-to-end product.

The Problem
In 2018, a joint report by ASICS and EY found that ‘over 35% of Australians find dealing with their finances to be stressful and overwhelming’ with the Banking Royal Commission finding ‘frightening levels of financial illiteracy adding to banking industry dysfunction’.
After our first round of financial illteracy research, we found that financial literacy involves far more than spending less than you save; it includes aspects of investing, understanding taxation and maximising superannuation. Additionally a major financial issue exists in the ability for one to budget consistently.
These problems highlight a potential opportunity for a digital experience to adapt to our ever changing financial priorities, in addition to a tool that provides greater transparency over our financial activity.

The Solution
A mobile application built to bring all your financial accounts into one place, banking, superannuation, managed funds, investments; in addition to the ability to budget with specific categories
Add Your Financial Accounts
When creating your account, you can add financial accounts from banking, superannuation, investments, subscriptions, etc.
Use Lydian to Pay with your Cards
In the app, you can pay using any of your linked bank cards with clear visibility of your current budget for each card.
View Your Spending Breakdown For Each Card
More detailed spending details can be found in the spending tab, with a comprehensive breakdown of each purchase made.
Track all your Financial Activity
Each account linked to Lydian can be found in the Track tab, where each individual account has information at-a-glance as well as a comprehensive graph view.
Budget Across all your Cards and Accounts
Set customised budgets for each of your expense accounts, with individual spending limits for specific categories.
